9/11... 20 Years Later ❤️

As much as we LOVE our dogs and the amazing work they do in the FEMA system (and for search and rescue in general!) they are a small part of the whole process.

This video is something a little different to share. It shows the many aspects of the entire 80 person team involved with a mission. I'm pulled to social media like a moth to the flame this time of year. I've been a Canine Search Specialist for almost 25 years now... almost half a lifetime- A HUGE part of who I am is this... and the trainer I am today is a result of many of these shaping forces in life.

So many memories and the memories of others posted here to share on FB....take me back to this time 20 years ago. Not just the terrible day of the 11th but to the months and months afterward- the shock, the anger, the recovery, the love, the compassion. A piece of every one of us changed in some way...

People always talk about "where you were on 9/11". I've spent a lot of time lately thinking about how much the tragedy of 9/11 has affected my life and the lives of everyone.
