Hi! I'm Rose the founder and creator of Cold Creek Dog Training. You'll hear me say all the time, "once you learn how to go through a doorway, EVERY doorway is training every moment.... every time...... every doorway, car doors, crate doors etc...so you never need to practice 3x a day :) "
We care about our people and their dogs- dog training it's not just what we do.... but it's all we do! We'll show you how to be successful and enjoy the dog you have even more. We do this through clear communication (black and white) eliminating the confusing gray where dogs make the wrong choices. Dogs are dog and people are people and we communicate differently. Once you understand this communication life with your dog will be infinitely easier :) Reward the right choice your dog makes- and he will make that good choice again and again!
Training is a relationship, for your and your dog and your trainer. Its a triangle of trust :) Dogs are the easy part, really they are! It's the people training relationship that we specialize in that creates our great level of success.
I'd like you to know that if you work with us at Cold Creek Dog Training....we guide you at your own pace to be successful with your dog. We won't push you, or force you, at your own pace you'll make the changes happen that you really want to see with your dog. And those changes you see are immediate and "every day" if you live with your dog- you will be training- you don't have to go out and practice and walk around in a circle and practice turns etc- you'll make "life changes" that work every day-
I started teaching Group Obedience and Specialty classes for the general public long ago (2002) in Ontario Canada......seems like a lifetime away....
Back then, there was still a huge interest in the Search and Rescue "Sniffer dogs of 9/11 "........my dog Logan and I did a lot of public appearances and demonstrations in the community. (we worked the first 9 days at the WTC with Pennsylvania Task Force One- one of the DHS/FEMA US&R teams in the USA. As part of PATF1 we have been DHS/FEMA certified Canine Search Specialists, Evaluator & Mentor for over 23years..... so that's kind of how it all began for me
Logan's joy in life was searching and finding people, she was known everywhere for her enthusiastic barking; but she was also very very well behaved everyday ordinary dog. People would ask me about basic obedience training too, how did I get her to just lay there and stay?...... or not pull on the leash?... how they could get their dogs to listen to them and do the same?.......
So I started to gather them all together and answer questions and group classes were born.... soon we had one of the most successful Training Centers around for 100 miles, We had a huge facility, and lots of classes going on year round- even in the subzero temperatures of Canada. people were coming out from all over.
I taught 1,000's of dogs, over 100 different CKC and AKC breeds and even more mixed breeds and especially rescue dogs... that's a lot of dogs... and Just as many owners too!
My lifetime passion of over 30+ years of professional and volunteer search and rescue experience since the 1980's and lifetime love of training and living with dogs was the catalyst for the great life I enjoy today.....
- who ever knew those simple games of hide and seek with my very special girl Shelley would change our lives and many others. Even as a really little girl with Teena our Pomeranian & chihuahua mix .... I can remember holding a biscuit over her head teaching her to do tricks- and showing my Mom and Dad what she had learned. (I do hate to admit it's been that long when you add up the years- )
Then life offered me an opportunity to move back home to Pennsylvania where I grew up,
I found everyone was asking for that personal one on one training experience with me. Groups were great for foundation learning and group classes were everywhere. People wanted a personal training experience to get that high level reliability you couldn't get anywhere else. Because we found much better and faster more consistent results together one on one.,....
...Especially after I had the opportunity to train the dog away from all those bad habits at home!...and so... my unique Board and Train Immersion Programs began......
Your dog has a brief time away your home. He lives and trains with me in my home and all around the 15 acre hobby farm in view of Big Round Top.It's a personal experience- not like kennel boarding. There are many distractions here to learn around, horses, chickens, squirrels..........yes lots and lots of squirrels!
The thing that makes these Immersion Programs so different is the focus on the owner as well. We include LOTS of follow up lessons for the owner at home and out and about where you live with your dog.
That's what makes it so unique and so successful . We focus on training the human part of the equation!
It's where our saying."Where dogs take their People for Training!" comes from!
