"I grew up in a home full of people (2 adults and 5 kids to be exact) and we always owned dogs. I watched as my mum worked with and trained our dogs, and she held them to the same standard she held us children to...it was a high standard.
Now that I am a mother, I understand the need for there to be clear communication and a clarity of expectations in the home not only between my daughter and I, but with our three dogs as well. I have learned that for her to turn to me when she needs help, there must first be trust. As an experienced dog trainer, I carry over those same understandings into my training. I strive to help each team of dog and owner attain their desired goals, by building trust, clear communication, and achievable expectations.
I love off leash hiking with my dogs, and want others to be able to experience those little moments of freedom too. I'm telling you, there is nothing quite like the feeling of joy (and relief if we're being honest) at successfully getting your dog to turn away from a deer or squirrel out on a trail.
With rescuing one of my dogs at 10 months old (Kora) and adopting another of my dogs as a puppy during covid (Echeaux), I know all too well the anxieties and fears that having an abused/unsocialized dog can bring for not only the dogs, but the owner as well. With time, patience, and a lot of exposure to different environments, my babies have come a long way to being at ease in the unknown. And if they find themselves in a situation where they can't shake the stress (because they still need help sometimes) they turn to me for direction, because of the trust we have, and they know I'd never lead them wrong.
Along with lots of hikes, I also compete in American Schutzhund with my boy Pharaoh. We have just earned his BT and are looking forward to growing as a team, and continuing to compete and excel in this sport.
Thank you for taking the time to read, as a little bit of my heart as a dog trainer is exposed. I'm excited to be your trainer and walk alongside you in your journey with your furry companion."
Thank you kindly,
Jaz
