I started life in classical ballet... since 2 years old I was coached and mentored by world renowned Masters and Choreographers. I performed in NYC at a young age and honor of a lifetime for sure, but not without its challenges... I quickly found that big city life was not for me.

You may wonder how on earth this ever led me to dog training, but in a roundabout way it did!

When I began coaching and teaching ballet after leaving the Big Apple, I found a passion for helping and worked as a teacher’s assistant with youth who have extensive trauma histories.

All of these experiences molded me into the person I am today and led me to the dogs in the end:)

I have a strong desire to help others and share my knowledge and experiences, and it all led me to being a dog trainer courtesy of my own challenging dog, Winston.  I met Rose as a client years ago and found a real love for training. Helping my dog was like helping others and I was hooked.

The infamous Winston and our journey together… We initially hoped that when we got Winston he would have the aptitude to be a therapy dog. At the time I was working with troubled youth and thought it would be wonderful for him to come to work with me and provide the youth in care comfort and security. As time went on many red flags came up and it turned out, Winston had anxieties and needed “therapy” of his own. I was working both full time and part time along with raising my daughter, but by applying Cold Creek Dog Training’s real life training methods we found great progress and success. Despite the ups and downs, Winston is now my work partner! Not in therapy dog work as we initially had hoped, but on a search and rescue team in PA. We love working as a team, continuing to build our relationship and trust with each other, and helping people in our community who are in need.

My other dog, Darcy- Lab/ Rottweiler rescue mix... She is one of the easiest, most trainable, and willing to please dogs I’ve ever encountered. So I understand the fun and joy of working with the easy ones too!

I’ve been in your shoes so I know what it's like to love a really challenging dog… I’ve been in your shoes so I know what it's like to love a really challenging dog. It was a beautiful autumn day at the park and Rose was holding one of her group classes. The day’s topic was Air Scent and we rocked it. Everyone was all smiles as they practiced runaways with their dogs. Winston has always been fearful and reactive, even since his Puppy Kindergarten classes where he hid underneath a chair for 3 lessons. He ignored other people and dogs just as we practiced and I was so pleased to see both Rose’s and my hard work pay off. At the end of the class we all wanted to get a group picture and lined up on the picnic tables. As Rose had her dog, Sevan, hop up onto the picnic table to join in the photo, Winston whirled around and snapped at her. My heart sank and my head started spinning. What had happened? We’ve worked so hard on this. Winston had been making so much progress. Afterwards, Rose reached out and took the time to process with me what happened, what I could do to mitigate the situation if it should happen again, and how I can continue to utilize all the training she’s already imparted to me to continue to strengthen Winston and my relationship.

Our commitment to you... This is a testament that we all have great days and moments, ones that could definitely be better, and that this is all an ongoing process. Training and living with your Challenging Dog is a journey of ups and downs- it's never just smooth sailing...

The best part is Cold Creek Dog Training is there to guide and help every step of the way. From customizing a training plan, to setting small goals, to what we want the final outcome to look like. If you ever get “off track” or have a question there is always support and guidance just a message away. I’ve been in your shoes and understand that dog behaviors can be frustrating, stressful, and even sometimes scary! But there is always a solution and chances are all you and your four legged friend need is a bit of training to strengthen your relationship and help you effectively communicate with each other. We are here to support, encourage, and build confidence and strength in the relationship with you and your companion.
